Queer Self Discovery Workshop
Queer Self Discovery Workshop
Participants will be guided through a series of reflective writing prompts and exercises that encourage exploration of personal experiences and perspectives related to queer identity. The goal of the workshop is for participants to gain a deeper understanding of their queerness and how it intersects with other aspects of their lives. This workshop is open to all individuals who identify as queer or are questioning, no writing experience necessary. Each participant will take home 10 writing prompts that can be used for continued growth.
When: Thursday, June 27th, 6-7:30
Taught by: Sage Mitchell (he/they)
Sage Mitchell (he/they) is a queer, trans-masculine writer and educator living in Michigan. He teaches English to emerging artists at Interlochen Arts Academy. Sage started Songs of Ourselves June of 2020 as a response to the isolation felt by many during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, Songs of Ourselves has reached hundreds of people across the globe, in the form of workshops and zines. Personally, Sage has been using writing as a reflective tool since elementary school and particularly enjoys journaling and poetry.
