Explore shibori (tie-dye) techniques while upcycling clothing in a natural indigo vat!
Dyers have been using indigo to create blue dye for centuries - we will be using a modern recipe for this 100% naturally derived fermentation indigo vat.  Bring your own natural fibers vintage item (cotton, linen, wool, silk, etc) or a blank organic cotton t-shirt can be provided.
Participants should dress for mess and, if desired, bring their own sewing kit and scissors. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase.

When: Thursday, July 11th, 5:30-7:30pm

Taught by: Jasmine Lace Petrie (she/her/they/them)

Jasmine Petrie of Howl at the Loom is a weaver, natural dyer, zine maker, workshop instructor, loom doctor, DIYer, and life artist.  She resides in the forests of her childhood in Northern Michigan with her family and menagerie of animals - all the while tending garden, enjoying nature, and occasionally travelling afar.
Jasmine holds an A.A. and Certificate in Textiles from North Central Michigan College and continues to fulfill a hunger for deeper knowledge of fiber arts by seeking further study under renowned instructors including Shanna Robinson, India Flint, Elin Noble, Mary Zicafoose, and Alissa Allen.
